Parents, Community and Staff,
Spur ISD administration has been notified that a staff member at Spur ISD has been lab confirmed to have COVID-19. In keeping with Spur ISD’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all stakeholders of this positive COVID-19 test. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her. The COVID positive staff member is currently quarantining and will complete all required COVID return to school protocols before returning to campus.
All staff and students that potentially came into close contact with the infected individual have been notified. As always, Spur ISD facilities are constantly being cleaned and disinfected. All District employees and students are instructed to continue to follow CDC guidelines and recommendations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individuals have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19.
- Temperature of 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, sore throat, new uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing, diarrhea, chills, loss of taste or smell, significant muscle pain or ache.
If you or any member of your family does begin experiencing any of these symptoms in a way that is not typical, we encourage you to contact your physician and keep your student home. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
Sincerely,
Craig Hamilton, Superintendent
